Feverfew Homestead Seeds
Feverfew Homestead Seeds
“No occupation is so delightful to me as the culture of the earth, and no culture comparable to that of the garden.” —Thomas Jefferson
Beautiful feverfew (tanacetum parthenium) is the small daisy-like flower you oh so often see in my photos and videos. Feverfew can be grown as a cut flower, for medicinal use, or both. While often mistaken as chamomile, they are not the same and feature many differences between the two. The benefits of chamomile are found in the flowers, while the benefits of feverfew are found in the leaves. Feverfew grows much bigger and bushier, reaching 12"–24" tall and wide.
Feverfew is a “short lived” perennial in USDA zones 5-8 meaning each plant will come back for about 2-3 years. It is a deer resistant flower and is wonderfully resilient both in the ground and when cut and displayed in vases. First-year feverfew will bloom mid-summer through fall, while the plants on their second or third year will bloom early summer.
These seeds are saved from our homestead gardens that are grown and maintained without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. This batch was saved from the 2022 growing season and packaged for the 2023 growing season.
Harvested by hand, air dried, and packed with love.
Your seeds will come packaged plastic-free in a kraft envelope and a recyclable planting instruction card. One order is 1/2 teaspoon of feverfew seeds, estimated to be a couple hundred if not more…plenty to plant the feverfew fields of your dreams.
Planting should be done 4-6 weeks before your average last frost date or in late fall for blooms the next year. Learn more about feverfew by clicking here!
